Bahadır Çolak

Born in Istanbul in 1983, Bahadir Çolak graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Sculpture. It shapes the use of traditional materials with current art practices. The artist, who produces sculptures in which he will be personally involved with the viewer’s gaze and make inquiries, uses the language of psychoanalysis and mythology in his works. In addition to traditional materials in his sculptures, Çolak prefers to use electronic and mechanical elements and establishes a sculptural-system relationship. Bahadir Çolak’s sculptures walk us on the edge of the contradiction between what is visible and what is real, suggesting that we always keep in mind that knowledge and image can be manipulated. The artist, who has appeared in numerous exhibitions and fairs at home and abroad, continues his work in Istanbul.
