Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu

Born in 1911, Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu started his artistic career at the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts and continued his painting education in Paris. Upon his return, he taught at the Fine Arts Academy in Istanbul throughout the remainder of his life. He produced works in many forms such as printing, engraving, ceramics, sculpture, stained glass, mosaic, calligraphy, serigraphy and lithography. Throughout his life, he focused on the examples of Anatolian folk art and made an effort to keep the richness of folk art alive by combining its techniques and motifs with those of modern art. He died in 1975 in Istanbul.
