Born in Istanbul in 1980, Çağatay Odabaş graduated from Yıldız Technical University, Department of Serigraphy and Marmara University, Department of Painting. The main influence and reference of Odabaş is cinema. Avid fan of motion pictures, Odabaş brings together hundreds of colorful dots and depicts iconic characters in the history of cinema only once and with a hyperrealistic effect. The artist summarizes his art as follows: “I blend pointillism with cinema, which is another branch of art. Therefore, both technique and content complement each other, creating a new language. The important point here is that cinema and plastic arts get together to create a new language and a new form of expression.”
