Eren Eyüboğlu

Eren Eyüboğlu (b.1907-d.1988)

Born in Romania in 1907, the artist studied painting at the Romanian Academy of Fine Arts. The artist, who went to Paris after graduating from school in 1929, married Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu, a painting artist like himself, whom he met in Paris in 1930 and returned to Istanbul in 1936. Traveling all over Turkey, he reflected the lifestyle of the Anatolian people by combining folkloric features on his canvases. With his abstractionist and expressionist view, he dealt with the subjects of Anatolian people and natural life in his paintings. Eren Eyüboğlu, who left behind many works of art, died in Istanbul in 1988.
